Her work in the Riley lab focuses on genetics and microbiology of gram-negative bacteria (GNB). Her current project assesses the prevalence of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) of culturable gram negatives in the healthy human gut, specifically looking at genes located on transferrable mobile elements. She also worked on a project to compare the prevalence and resistance of E.coli strains isolated from suspected UTI cases to those found in retail meat.
